Picasa

This week we are looking at how to create a collage with Picasa and how to edit images. We are also looking at how Picasa allows the user to compress images so that they can be placed online or sent via email faster and easier.

Week 5

This week we looked at exposure and lighting. We also looked at Picasa for editing photos and how to back up all our images to a CD. We also looked at the homework from the Easter holidays - 7 days of photos.

Week 4

This week we looked at aperture and shutter speed settings on the camera. We also printed some of our images out and used Picasa to view our images.

TO freeze time we used a fast shutter speed or sports mode on the point and shoot cameras

We used changes in the aperture setting to change the Depth of Focus - we used the macro and landscape settings to acheive the same result on the point and shoot cameras.

Aperture and Shutter Speed

This is a great animation showing the relationship between Aperture settings and Shutter speed and how the combination of each can actually result in the same exposure for your picture

Week 1

This week we created our Blog space, ready for creating our portfolio of images taken during the course of this class. Took a little while to set up, but I think everyone was surprised at how easy it was to create. Check out the links on the right to each student's blog.

Welcome

Welcome to our class blog space. This blog is a record of class activities and exercises completed each week. Our individual sites, linked here, will become a portfolio record of what we have completed each week and a way of sharing our favourite images with class mates and friends.

I hope you all enjoy the course and I look forward to working with each of you.
